I need some help in the awards area of the VCCA. I am looking for organized volunteers willing to help in the awards process.
Personally, I have found that volunteering on the national scale of this club has been interesting and brings satisfaction of being involved on a larger scale.
If someone is interested in taking over as the National Awards coordinator, or assisting with the awards please let me know.
Thanks, Chris Cufr National Awards Coordinator

In the past this has been three different jobs composed of the National Awards Coordinator, the Engraving assistant, and the Boards assistant.
National Awards Coordinator - This person handles the national jugding awards (except certificates). The awards coordinator maintains the database ,inventory and distributiuon of the judging ovals, tabs, and boards. They receive orders directly from the chief judge for each meet and sends the awards out for each meet.
Engraving - This person gets the results from the awards coodinator for each meet and has the preservation and HPOCF engravings made. The engravings are then sent directly to each winner.
Boards - The boards assistant makes the boards for the Preservation and HPOCF classes. They then send the required boards to the chief judge for each meet. We use approximatley 25 boards per year.
I have sent you an e-mail with detailed job descriptions, for anyone else interested, please just let me know.

Chris, are you doing all three jobs now?
Is there a contract or some pricing schedule for the engraving and hardware? Who is presently making the boards?

John - Thanks for the comment. I am not leaving the club, just trying to keep my family my top priority. You need to hang in there too!!!
Roadster32 - Yes, I am currently doing all three jobs. It's not as bad as it sounds as long as things go as they are supposed to. Actually, when things go as planned, they work quite well. My problem is catching up with the loose ends.
Keith Troutwine made the preservation boards for over 10 years before he retired. When he did retire, he gave me his remaining inventory. Once the inventory was used up I had a friend do the wood working and I did the assembly.

I am glad to announce that Russell Heim is the new National Awards Coordinator. We may still need someone to fill the engraving assistant position though. So if you are interested, please let me know.
I will now serve Russell as an assistant awards coordinator.
I hope te awards article in the G&D helped clear things up a little.
Chris
