Alright I have a 1946 Chevrolet pickup 3100 series. I am going all original with the paint, interior and exterior. The truck is boatswain blue with black fenders. What are the exact color matches for boatswain blue and the black? Also what color is the interior? I hear a brown or tanish color on the dash. What is the name of the color? I'm told the steering column should match the dash. What color is the floor board and firewall? Also the cover plate over the tranmission and battery, is that the truck color or black? The beltline stripe is silver, what is the name of this silver and a match for it? There is a red pinstripe in the silver. What is the name and color match for this? Now, WeW, what is the original color for my 216 and what is the match for this. I'm told grey but what is the name of it? Also any engine accessory colors will help. Like the generator color, the carburator color, air cleaner and it has a fram oil filter which I know is orange. Anyone know where I can get original wire loom to recover my wires? The seat is black, should it be brown? If so how do I match it? laugh laugh chevy laugh laugh

The Filling Station has a new wiring harness for your truck as well as the correct Dark Blue-Gray engine paint. laugh

Ok, here goes the best match that I have found for Boatswain Blue (duco# 246-3207) is the 68-69 Toyota (T-1386) Orbit Blue (ACME#90300) and (R-M# T0075) This is a GOOD match. The floor pan is Gloss Black, as is the battery cover and the trans cover. The Generator is also black I will research some of the other items more later. chevy talk

Ok, good deal. How abour the silver stripe and the red pinstripe in the silver? I have some blue color left, so I think I'll have it color matched from my painter. When you say floor pan are you talking about the floorboard itself? My transmission cover/battery box cover is one big plate that bolts down to the floor.

Thanks Lil Johnny. My truck is definately boatswain blue. I have plenty paint left to match on the firewall and under the dash. I am going to get my painter to match boatswain. My problem is locating the argent silver match and the totem scarlet match. My 46 did have a paint tag on it under the hood but as usual with most vehicles someone took it off. I'm also trying to cross the dash and steering column colors also. Everyone keeps telling me about Jim Carter. I know he has the correct colors but have you ever tried to buy your painter his own paint and then ask him to do your vehicle? LOL highly unlikely he cares for your business after that. If my truck had never been repainted I might have a chance to cross everything. Unfortunately, the original owner decided to paint the truck red with black lights.

My Dad restored a '39 1/2 ton with boatswain blue and black fenders. He has a good deal of info and knowledge on Chev trucks. If you would like his phone Number, e-mail me with your phone and I'll call and give it to you.
