Hi Folks,

Maria Delgado from Merrick Machine, 800 568 7423 ext 188 just called and offered a sample prototype vehicle dolly made especially for VCCA members.

I offered to post the offer so that maybe someone from one of the larger Regions or National could get the sample and show it around (I don't belong to a region yet).

Maria's gonna send me a picture soon. But there's supposed to be the VCCA logo on each dolly in such a way that you can see it when the car is loaded.

Let me know if any of you take 'em up on this.

Jim

Hello Eldred, Maybe some of us in the Lone Star Region could give the sample a shake down and check out? We could pass it around to different guys for a month at a time and give a decent review of the set.

I bought a new set from Harbor Freight for my 28 and could use a good set on my 51 Belair that is being restored, it could be a good comparison to the El Cheapo ones from Harbor Freight, They are working ok so far, they do require frequent oiling of the bearings and swivels to stay flexible.

Thanks and maybe you will get to be a member of the new ChevyChat Chapter of VCCA (or whatever it is going to be named) soon! We need some organized groups for guys that aren't in a geographical Region for whatever reason.

I would really like to know how many of the 8000+ members that do not belong to a geographical region?

Just one of many reasons, for the club to create and maintain a current digital membership database. I hope we can get one eventually, maybe at a low enough cost to please the BOD, and without needing to deplete the club treasury. Maybe they should consider using the assets and talents available thru the regular VCCA members that frequent www.VCCAchat.org!...but what would the Wacky Won know about that?.....

VCCACHAT.org ........ where IT is at!

"I would really like to know how many of the 8000+ members that do not belong to a geographical region?"

As I understand it, and from what I was told in the past, something like 80% of the membership only belong to the national VCCA and not a region.

According to the info presented in a seminar at the Anniv. Meet @ GJ the 20% estimate of Region members is real close.

Thanks For the information, That is a good reason for maintaining and improving this site as well as the VCCA.org site.

All they have to do is is have an internet connected computer and log in, ask questions and get good answers from you Experts and Gurus.

I hope that those of our membership that have a negative notion about the site will have reason to learn we aren't just a bunch of anti- management radicals and kooks, and that we want to change things just for sake of change. I reckon it is up to us to work on our image toward that goal. I intend to do my part. No more Wacky/Macky Eh?

Golly, I can't believe I said that with my own fingers!

Mr Mack,

Sounds like what they're looking for. Give Maria a call.

I would hope that Maria has acquired the approval of the VCCA BOD to place the VCCA logo on a commercial endeavor.

She contacted me just before the 45th meet. Did not have the time to respond to the unsolicited sales effort. Doubt that approval to use the logo has been granted. It would be appropriate for anyone who receives one or a set to make note of the use of a logo and then contact the Executive Committee to determine if written permission was given. Since the logo implies an endorsement we must be careful that the quality is good and the VCCA receives compensation.

Me neither, I did inquire. Since then I have bought two more sets from Harbor Freight, they are doing fine.
