SINCE WE ARE GOING TO USE THIS SECTION FOR FEEDBACK ON VENDORS, I NEED TO LEAVE SOME INFORMATION.

IN APRIL 2002 THERE WERE 6 SS WHEEL RINGS ('32) FOR SALE ON EBAY. THESE ITEMS WERE A NO SALE (NO BIDS ABOVE STARTING PRICE OF $120.00) AT THAT TIME.

AFTER THE AUCTION I EMAILED THE SELLER (MICHAEL HAHN) AND HE OFFERED THEM TO ME AT A SOMEWHAT REDUCED PRICE ($100.00), IF HE DIDN'T HAVE TO BLUFF THEM. WE MADE A DEAL AND I SENT THE SELLER A MONEY ORDER FOR THE FULL AMOUNT + SHIPPING IN APRIL.

AS OF THIS DATE (JULY, 2002) I HAVE NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THE SELLER. NO EMAILS, NO RINGS, NOTHING.

MY COMPUTER CRASHED RIGHT AFTER THIS DEAL AND I LOST MICHAEL HAHN'S EMAIL ADDRESS AND STORE ADDRESS. THE ONLY THING I HAVE LEFT IS HIS NAME ON MY CARBON OF THE MONEY ORDER, "MICHAEL HAHN". I THINK, I REMEMBER (?) HE WAS IN NEW JERSEY AT A MALL (HINCKEY MALL, MAYBE?). HE SAID HE HAD THESE WHEEL RINGS LISTED IN HIS CATALOG OF CAR PARTS.

I COULDN'T GET ANY INFORMATION FROM THE OLD EXPIRED EBAY AUCTION SITE BECAUSE MICHAEL HAHN HAD BEEN "SUSPENDED" AND ALL OF HIS AUCTIONS AND ETC HAD BEEN REMOVED BY EBAY.

HOPEFULLY NONE OF YOU WILL DEAL WITH THIS VENDOR EITHER NOW THAT YOU KNOW HOW HE CONDUCTS BUSINESS.

HAVE A GOOD DAY, GATOR.

P.S. IF ANY OF YOU HAVE HIS CATALOG OR ADDRESS (E OR SNAIL) PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

Hey Gator! There were not any wheel trim rings offered as a genuine Chevrolet accessory in 1932. Those wheel rings were an aftermarket accessory, and the first actual genuine Chevrolet accessory wheel trim rings were released in 1933. Thanks for the update on this vendor though and we will watch out for him!!  laugh laugh laugh laugh

Gator, I don't know what type of money order you used, I use postal money orders. I ask because the post office ones have a "recipt tab" with the money order number. If you have this maybe you can trace where it was cashed (hopefully his bank) or at least the area he lives and maybe the police dept can help you some. That's about all I have for now. Thanks for the tip.

Gator,
What a bummer. Thanks for the heads up on the vendor. One suggestion to everyone, use US Postal Service money orders. In a case like this, it becomes a federal mail fraud case and you can get the feds involved.

You can put a tracer on your money order to see if it was cashed. There should be a number on it which is used to check if it was cashed or not.

50 CHEV, MICHAEL HAHN SOLD ON EBAY UNDER HIS NAME AND THE COMPANY'S NAME. IF YOU USE "ID HISTORY" WITH THE NAME "MICHAEL HAHN" IT WILL SHOW THAT THIS SELLER IS "SUSPENDED". I DIDN'T SAID "KESSLER" WAS SUSPENDED, ONLY THE PERSON MICHAEL HAHN (WHO IS THE GRANDSON OF KESSLER, I HAVE BEEN TOLD), I CHECKED AGAIN WITH EBAY LAST NIGHT AND HE (THE PERSON) IS STILL SUSPENDED.

I DIDN'T FIND OUT THAT MICHAEL HAHN WAS WITH KESSLER'S UNTIL I POSTED HERE. MY PROBLEM WAS WITH HIM...BUT IF HE OWNS OR RUNS KESSLER'S THEN IT DOES BECOME A COMPANY'S PROBLEM.

HE HAS TOLD ME THAT HE HAS MY MONEY AND THAT THE ITEMS "WERE SHIPPED" I AM WAITING FOR HIM TO PUT A TRACE ON THE "LOST" PACKAGE SO IT CAN BE FOUND. I DON'T KNOW HOW THEY WERE SHIPPED UPS, USPS, OR ??? ALL OF THE SHIPPERS KEEP VERY GOOD RECORDS SO THERE SHOULD BE NO PROBLEM WITH TRACKING THE PACKAGE. I ALSO HAVE REQUESTED (7-17) FROM HIM ALL OF THE SHIPPING INFORMATION SO I CAN DO A TRACE ALSO, I AM WAITING FOR A REPLY TO THIS REQUEST.

Good luck to you gator.

I would like to make a gentle request to you and others. Please turn off the CAPS LOCK feature when you're typing. All caps is very difficult for human beings to read. You would be better off typing in all lower case than in all caps.

Thanks

PS Also, on the Internet, all caps is considered to represent shouting.

Sorry about the poo-fa with the caps. Didn't know it was hard to read or shouting. It just saved me time not to have to go back and do caps, I'm not a speed typist. gator

Hi Gator,
My limited knowledge of Kesslers would support Old Crank's, I think you will get your parts. I ordered some parts from Michael Hahn last year and recieved them with no problems.

Hope you are right Herb, haven't heard a beep out of him since July 17th when he said they were "in the mail" and I asked him to send me the shipping information (tracking numbers, etc) ASAP.

Have emailed him about everyday with this same request.

Gator

P.S. FYI, These were hub protector rings not trim rings (or so I was told).

Bad news, Hahn has decided to keep my money and to keep the rings. He didn't like me checking on the order after only 3 months of waiting for them.

I am turning to you guys at Chevy Chatter to help.
If any of you know how I can get in touch with anyone at Kessler's, (except Hahn, of course) that would have any authority to make this right, please let me have their address (e or snail). If any of you know Kessler or whoever was in charge before Hahn ask them to contact me.

All I get from Hahn in answer to my requests for my parts or a refund are profane, insane emails (you would not believe his emails).

This is so sad...a business that had built a good reputation being turned over to a person like Hahn, who does not seem to have any business sense or even common sense or any morals.

I will consider my $100.00 well spend if you guys would please let Hahn & Kessler's know that this is not the way to do business. And of course the old saying "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me", he will never fool me again. His email address is: <kesslers@midwest.net>

I am moving on, my faith in people has taken a hit, but hopefully, because the vast majority of people in this hobby are honest it will in time restore some of that lost faith. I am also a firm believer in "what goes around, comes around", so I believe Hahn in the end will suffer more than me for his misbehavior.

Sorry to hear of your bad luck, Gator-

I did some checking on Ebay:

User ID Michael Hahn (0 Feedback)is suspended, but he is from Germany...probably not the same guy.

User ID Kesslers (0 Feedback)still active.

User ID kesslers@midwest.net (164 Feedback - 5 neutrals, 7 negatives) Still active with 21 current actions.

Unfortunately, because you bought your rings outside of ebay, your options are limited, and recourse through the ebay system is no longer available to you. I considered sending him an email on your behalf, but then wondered what liability the VCCA would have should Mr. Hahn not take kindly to a barrage of emails that originated from this site.

Hopefully others can learn from your bad luck, and will steer clear of EBAY ID kesslers@midwest.net .

Good luck-

SPEEDLINE

Gator, have you saved the emails corresponding to this problem? Have you saved emails were he said "they must be lost in the mail" and "they're on their way" and "to bad so sad" along with the profanities would give you a decent case. Were you ever able to trace the money order? I would make copies and bring what you have to the Feds and let them see what can be done. I would think legal action towards interstate fraud would apply. This is what I would do especially if someone is ripping me off. mad I would suggest you take your facts to the appropriate State/Gov authorities and see where the chips may lie. If you do nothing then he gets away with it and may do it to others. Even if authorities don't have enough evidence or can't do anything at least you tried and there's a paper trail if it happens again and then maybe this can help someone else to nail this guy.
p.s. to bad he's too far away to show him the business end of a Louisville. Agrin
