I need a carburetor. float for a 1928 chevrolet carb. I've tried Gary Wallace and the other Wallace who has 28 parts . Any suggestions as to where to find one. I bought a used one and it leaked as much as my old one even after 5 tries at solder patching it.

The float is the same for the late '27 to the '31. Best bet is find a carb at a swap meet. No one makes a replacement and those who may have an extra one are hesitant to get rid of them. Maybe JYD will sell you one. I will look to see if I can spare one. :confused:

Hi entsminger, Get all the excess solder off your float, dip it in gas tank sealer, let it dry overnight, reassemble the carbureator and safe driving.

Ray, what brand of gas tank sealer, Por 15 or Bill Hirtchs? or does it make any difference? I need to do my spare floats for my vacuum tank and my carb, also is a Marvel Scrabner carb ok for a National AB engine?

Hi MrMack, I'm not too brand conscious on gas tank sealer provided it is the white 'snot' and not the yellow 'snot'. The yellow breaks down with the alcohol that is now used in the gas.
