I had a problem with fuel evaporating from carb leaving a gummy varnish causing choke to stick on the standpipe. I also had a problem with a 1931 mechanical pump diaphram that cracked after being dry for months. For me the answer has been to start the engine every couple of weeks even in the winter.

If you have old Chevrolets, other old Chevrolets will find out where you live.
