Did they ever decide on a Logo for this event? I know I submitted one like almost a year ago and never did hear anything about who won or what the logo looks like. Also, why doesn't the G & D put something in every month about this event? It wouldn't have to be much but since it only happens once every five years, it probably wouldn't hurt to promote it 12-18 months out of 60 months. The web site doesn't have much yet either. I was at the last one and think it needs more promotion. It is a blast!

just a word The G&D doesn't put out news and information, the members have to send in articles then the Editor edits them and prints them.

NOOOW!

What do you want to know about the 2006 anniversery meet? I am sure a lot of work is going on at the present, Tours are being planned and tour routes are being mapped, meals are being arranged and hotels and events locations have been contracted for, expenses are being calculated and reported, The meet is an on going activity planned worked and executed by volanteers all members of VCCA. The Directors that are chairing the meet show up here on the VCCA Chatter site quite often. We would not want too much info to be released and spoil the surprise, now, would we?

But the main reason alot isn't being released is that planning can get way ahead of the curve, vendors and even hotels change staffs, and even go out of business, and change ownership, so that planners have to consider that problem. I am sure they would welcome any help the members are willing to give.

We should all "welcome" the newest Chevy Chatter.... ibthebest Number 4334.

Michael "ibthebest" Stout has an interesting 'first post' about the upcoming Nat'l Meet in CO.

He also has an interesting VCCA Number: 600136. That seems odd. Maybe a typo?!?

Bill.

My VCCA Number is 38482. The 600136 is my AACA number. Sorry about that. Now, I appreciate that the G & D is member fed, but there is an editor and their is a board of directors and there is the chairman, sub-chairman, etc. for this biggggggggg event. At the minimum they could list the dates, the location and who to contact for more information. Let's motivate members to come to this meet. In this hectic world, people need to schedule things like this in advance and maybe even save a few bucks for it. All I am saying is to keep it out there in front of them and when the time comes to register, everybody will already know that this is a special event and not just another regional meet. Finally, if you are going to have contests relating to the meet,(which I think was a great idea to get members involved) don't drop the ball and not notify anybody what was the result.

I bet you are right again...Chev Nut!

Welcome aboard new or old, ibthebest!
No problem with having a low self esteem Eh? That is good, we only have a couple of guys around here with a low ego component!

And yes some of us have to hide away a few frogskins in order to spend a week having all that fun!
In that vein, I guess we should be hearing from several of our "regulars" that have been listening to "The roar of a half a hundred Chevy Fours at the VCCA National Pre-1929 AnnualTour.

What say Ye? Did you have fun?

Update............Just got my July G & D and the dates and location of the anniversary meet are included. Maybe I am making too much of this every five year event and the lack of Hoop de La.

Folks,
The 2006 Anniversary Meet planning is currently in the final stages. Most arrangements have been made and will be published in upcoming issues of the G&D. The logo information was scheduled to be in the July G&D. Don't have my issue to see if it got in. There will be articles on activities so people who might attend will know of major events and be able to fill out the registration form. There will also be information on sights that can be seen on way to or from the meet. If you don't see what you need in the next few issues then let us know and we will try to get it published/and posted.

Two of three Co-Chairs were at the recent pre-29 Tour so just getting back.

Michael,

Thanks for straightening me out on my confusion over your VCCA number. 600k VCCA numbers just about did me in!!!

Interesting you have your G&D already. I think that's about the earliest I've ever heard of!!! I get mine in Ore around the 1st or 2nd of the month and hear a lot of 'whining' that I get mine so 'early.' Man, you are definitely the 'winner' for being early!!

Sure great to hear you had a "blast" at the Springfield meet. I didn't make that one. It's the first one we've missed since Downington. We're planning on being in Co in '06. Anyway, I think you're right.... they are a 'blast.'

Bill.
