It is just a little over a year till our biggie thingie in Grand Junction Colorado July,2006.

What do you other VCCA members think about having an informal get together one evening, lunch or breakfast and visit and meet face to face have some fellowship, etc, etc.?

We can do a lot of the organization here, and maybe get some help and advice, from the folks that are chairing the affair, like John 348 and Chipper Dipper.

The floor is open for discussion!

MM: Sounds like an idea worth pursuing. You know, put a face with the name. (Oh, maybe that part isn't such a good idea!?!?!)

But as I recall don't they keep us pretty busy at the Biggie Thingies??

It is indeed a busy time but we probably could squeeze in a meal or trip to have a beverage of choice!

I don't even want to think about it!!! Once Macky Wacky and 42Bill get together, no one else will be able to get a word in edgewise! Okay dudes, you all might as well just bring a chair and something to drink  and watch the show when these two go at it. Wow.......there is going to be a lot of sore ears the next day from all of Macky Wacky's and 42Bill's sound waves bouncing off of everything in sight!  wink laugh laugh

Believe it or not Macky Wacky is rather quiet - at least he has been at the tours I attended

I NEVER (like to) say NEVER. BUT I don't think it's too likely, Bob.
I think Mrs. Fuller would rather eat spam than ride to CO in the '42.

:( Sorry. :( Bill.

It sounds like a lot of fun, but I need to take some shorter trips first. Bellingham will be our first real jaunt away from the home base. But like you say, NEVER say NEVER!!

All roads to Grand Junction in July can be kinda warmish. We haven't decided what car we will be taking, depends upon what is running, and also how the gas prices will be, 10 MPG with a trailer, or 16 to 18 mpg with the Impala. know what I mean?... Anyway two out of three it will be in or on a trailer, and one out of three it will be the 68 Impala with the COLD A/C.
I really like touring with the '28 I think it is more Vintage looking. But that '68 is a really good ride, and it has a trunk that I could almost set up housekeeping in.!

The Grand Junction meet will be a touring and sightseeing meet. Main tour day will be Thursday when all are encourage to tour or ride in a vintage Chevrolet. Several optional tours are planned that can be taken on Tuesday and/or Friday. The VCCA passports will be used. For those that are not familiar with them I am sure that the "Bandito" will fill you in. For those that don't know the "Bandito" check the article on the first Southern Spring Tour in the March 2005 issue of the G&D. An action photo is on page 20 as well as mug shots on the same and next page. Got yah, wackie.

Well Ole buddie , That was my retarded twin brother "Dorkie Dickie" in discuise, had to be , no sane grown man would dress up like that and do something like a "Tickle Search" don't you think?, By the way he lives in a double wide over in Mobeetie, Texas.
Thank goodness he don't have access to indoor plumbing or a telephone, let alone a computer!

I have a daughter in Glenwood Springs,CO so I can attend the Meet in Grand Juncion next year. How lucky can a guy be to be able to visit grandkids and go to a "big" Chevy meet at the same time. We go to Glenwood Springs at least 2 times a year so I know I don't want to drive my "41 and to trailer it would be too much. Its a long drive from Missouri to Glenwood in my Buick (a/c, power everything, On=star, cassett, tape deck, etc.
The get-together sounds great. I am looking forward to meeting some of the members that we talk to on the Chat. Count me in. Just let me know what, where and when. I'll be there.

Yeah, The cars are important, but the people are what make the club what it is, I hope members don't stay away from the meet because they can't bring a vintage Chevrolet for one reason or the other. I have been the route of not attending because of no car and I do believe that was a mistake.
I do like to see all the cars but I haven't had a meaningful conversation with a strange car for a long time! And another member is only a stranger until we can shake hands and introduce our selves. I think that there have been some friendships established here with out meeting face to face.
Maybe we can do something about that in Grand Junction. I am going forward with getting the word out here and will continue the planning stage unless one of the meet chairs nixes the deal, after all they have the best interest of the whole Club, and they have assumed the responsibility for the meet.
I don't want to be considered doing something that is counter-productive for the National Club.

Well Wackie 1,
I for one see absolutely no problem getting the Chatterboxes together. It should prove to be a real interesting affair. I just wonder if we can have meaningful conversations with out a keyboard?

1981.83 miles for me, I might have to miss this one...

Unless there are some VCCA Florida or fairly close by members that want to carpool and share expenses. Let me know if you are interested.

Gator, Maybe you can hitch hick over to East Texas and then we will send for you and you can ride in my '28. We all might need to find a way to car pool if gasoline gets any higher.
Chipper that may be a problem, Maybe I can come up with some flash cards!

MM:

The 'set-up' is: How does a "hitch hick" get from place to place.

The 'punchline' is: He goes by "hitch hike."

Ain't life grand!!??!!

Speaking of "Good Life" and octogenarian plus, I had the pleasure to take Mrs. Williams out for a spin in Sweetie Pie. She is the original owner of Sweetie Pie and just turned 98 years old. I put some Glen Miller on the little hidden boom box, and she was in "7th Heaven". At this rate we will go cruzin when she turns 100!!
