Hey Guys & Gals,
The sixth annual VCCA Southern Spring Tour begins this Wednesday for the early birds. Nearly 60 VCCA families will congregate in Natchitoches, LA for four days of Chevrolet driving enjoyment. Rumor is next year is Branson, MO. The tour filled in February this year so if you are thinking about going next year better pay attention when the announcement is made for the tour next year.

Or better yet why not plan a 4 or 6 or 4 & 6 cylinder tour for your area. There are lots of old chevys out there just itching to get their tires warm.

Well Chipper, don't forget the bugle! We don't want to miss out on any ice cream stops!

That is a grand Idea about haveing some more quality 4 & 6 tours, maybe even another "All Cylinder tour or two, you ever been to Midland- Odessa, or Pecos?

I think it is more like a sewer pipe with a funnel on the end.

Hum...if it's a sewer pipe, then how does the bugle sound? Does it sound like a wounded goose or a pregnant elephant??

JYD, We just got back from SSTIV and the answer is Yes and Yes. I was really disapointed, We collected nearly $8.29 for bugleing lessons, last year, and I think it was a waste of good money. (IMHO)

I beg your pardon! Good bugle lessons are a bit more than $ 8.29. Besides a critter has taken up residence in the bugle and it would not be humane to overly disturb him with too much noise. Us VCCA'ers are environmentally sensitive and courteous.

You are right Macky Wacky.......the money for the bugle lessons was wasted.

Critter? There's a "Ford Rat" living in the Chevrolet bugle.........so what's the problem Chipper Dipper Doodle? Sounds like you need a Junkyard Dog to eradicate the problem for you.....that is unless you are a "Ford Rat" collector and lover.........ha ha!   laugh laugh

So... Chipper, now you want money for GOOD bugleing lessons? And I think that critter must be dead by now! But brang the bugle along if you wish, someone may need it for a funnel to put some brake fluid in their "modern" juice brakes!

Oh NO!!! the old mutt has lost it. Off the Colorado Cool-aid and on to grape juice. Isn't anything sacred? I will bring the horn to the 4 cyl tour so all the Texans will feel at home. It is not a Ford rat but a bitty spider. Or I think it is a bitty spider as the web is not too big.

I'm sure that you all had a good time.Wasn't able to attend this year due to "family" event.Branson sounds good for next year.A little closer to Wisconsin. In a way I am kind of glad I didn't go this year. The trip home on Sunday would have put us right in the toronados path.My sons town in Tenn.would have been our Sunday night stop.IT hit there but not his house.

Gene,
Maybe it was for the best. Someone may have been looking out for you. We had several people tell us it was the best VCCA event they had ever attended and definately the best tour. Guess we did ok. Tried to have something for everyone and not have them driven to exhaustion. Most of all we try to have fun!

Fun we did have. Food, fun an even fireworks!

Billy Jack pretty well summed it up Saturday. When he was sitting o the running board of his 33 under a shade tree listening to the blue grass band "50 old Chevrolets and a good bluegrass band, It don't get no better than that!"

I would have to add "and a great bunch of folks too!"

P.S. Chipper brang on that elephant caller.... I got nearly a full case of EAR plugs!

bigl yipp ok

Yes, the Southern Spring Tour was great this year. We had 48 Chevys (1925 to 1954), 114 adults and 4 kids attend. There were folks from 11 states. No less than 5 VCCA Board members were there. There were no serious breakdowns (Chip lost his tread, Chic Vaughn, Don Schmitt & Mike McN had fuel problems and Bill Stiner cracked his rim). The weather cooperated and the food was great (love that Cajun' cooking!).
Next year we're going to Branson, MO in April so put it on your calendar.
The SST committee consisted of Bill & Sheila Bradford, Chip & Cathy Sweet, Joe & Joyce Smith and Bill & Barbera Mancuso. auto ok
