Just a quick poll...
Who here would be interested in a tour for the club that took place in 5 stages where you could participate in any or all of the stages, which would cross the country - east to west coast or vice versa?
I've been toying around with a couple ideas and wondering if something like that might be successful....
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

My wife and I are always interested with touring anywhere in the old Chevy.

Ok, so what distance do you think is appropriate for a single day? How much is too much?

Judging from the 6 cylinder tours that I have been on I would say about 150 miles. This of course depends what there is to see.If the tour has older cars and more modern touring together this could also be a problem. They would almost need to be divided as to road speed that people like to travel. This may also be necessary to elminate long lines of cars.

James, There is a tour this August on the Lincoln Highway. Leaving from Times Square NY to San Fran, and from what I remember they were looking at around 200 mles a day as an average. This is being run by some Lincoln Highway Group. John

James, Before you try to plan a tour I would suggest that you attend one of the larger tours that we already have. They are not "cross country" as you stay at the same location each night but will give an idea as to what is involved. The next larger and closest tour is the Eastern 6 cylinder tour .It will be in New Jersey in September. It can be very difficult to find accomadations, both for overnight and eating, for large numbers of people. And the last thing you would want is unhappy campers. This sounds like a monumental task for one person. It would be necessary to have people that are familiar with the areas assisting you.

Maybe, n'then maybe not....What this outfit needs is some new blood with new ideas, just keep on Thinking V.J. maybe you will come up with something new and unique! The street rod bunch has something called the PowerTour why not VCCA? Maybe we could find something to stop for rather than ice cream!.....Maybe it could be called "The Great, It Ain't a Race Baby, Tour"
