Hi --
I am hoping someone can recall the date/s of the VCCA National Meet (2nd or 3rd?) that was held in Alexandria, IN in the early to mid 1960's. I have a picture and article from the local newspaper (Anderson Daily Bulletin) - but the dates have been cut off. I think the Meet before or after this one was in Urbana, IL.
Thanks!

. I recall attending the first national VCCA meet at Indianapolis race track. I drove my Sedan delivery to the airport and rented a small Chevy when I got there. The Ausis drove a 41 coach from LA to Indi. I don't remember the exact date. .

If you are talking about the VCCA Anniversary Meets, they are held every 5 years. The VCCA was begun in 1961. The first time that the VCCA had an Anniversary Meet was in 1971. That meet was listed as being in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was called the 10th Anniversary Meet.

The first Anniversary Meet I went to was in 1976 in Colorado Springs, Colo. The second Anniv. Meet, the year I bought my 35 Master. There was a 35 Standard and a 35 Master there.

My first anniversary meet was in 1971 in Indianapolis with our 47 Fleetline. Five years later we drove it to Colorado Springs for the 15th anniversary meet. We still have the same car and it gets used every year. My 3 kids all grew up riding in the back seat of that car.

The 10th Anniversary Meet was held July 22-24, 1971 in Indianapolis IN. We attended with our first old Chevrolet a 1931 Coach. Made the two laps around the track along with most of the other attending vehicles. Along with John DeBrincat of Australia who is the only other VCCA member to have attended all the anniversary meets. John should be honored for his dedication to the VCCA.
