We are doing some dash work on a 1970 Monte Carlo with column shift for an automatic transmission. The wire/cable that connects the column to the indicator is broken.

We can find the cable for later model cars but not this first generation. We can only find complete shift indicator assemblies that includes the cable.

Does anyone know if we can use the second generation cable on this car?

I don't think it will work. The 70-72 cable is available from the Original Parts Group and other vendors, It should be the same as the Chevelle with floor shifted automatic.

Hi David,

Thanks for the response. I might not be searching correctly. I can only find the whole shift indicator assembly for a 1970 with column shift. We are hoping to find the cable only.
