Been meaning to post this for a while, these may be in general use in the States.
European trucks now have trip fuses, I have an assortment in the tool box for fault finding electrical short circuits. It saves covering the floor with blown fuses when you think you found the fault but didn't !
I also have a fuse holder adapted to fit different types of fuse holders so that no matter what type of fuse I can still use the trip fuse while I trace the fault reset it every time it blows & replace it with the correct fuse when finished.
 idea

Thanks for that tip. Also, a test light in place of the fuse in the circuit will light to full brightness with a short to ground, less brightly with a normal load at the end of the circuit.

If you have old Chevrolets, other old Chevrolets will find out where you live.
