I have a 2000 chevy silverado with a 5.3L and i have just noticed that it has a knocking noise which sounds like it is coming from the bottom, i can only here it when i am parked or setting in traffic. Please leave me a message or email me for suggestions. Thank you.

is it a 5 speed or automatic? my 2003 has a light knocking noise at idle in neutral with clutch out, leaves when clutch depressed. dealer says it isn't throwout bearing. thinks its input shaft bearings. been doing it since new, has 18k miles on it now. dealer said he'd fix it after 3 yr / 36 mo warranty pperiod expires if its worse. its not getting louder. mike
