I had a site that provided engine weights for most all engines, lost it when the computer fried about a year ago. I recall complete the engine weighed in at about 675 pounds, somewhat more than an SBC. I have a 52 235 on my engine stand complete less the bell housing, I purchased a 1000 pound stand and am glad I did.

My figures show and engine with clutch and flywheel at 613 lbs-probably also includes flywheel housing....Power Glide engine at 554 lbs. which would have none of that heavy stuff bolted on...These figures actualy are for a 1957 235 engine but weight would be very close to a 216.....Also would be without generator and starter,carb.. and fuel pump.
