The 2blu 52 is a styleline deluxe 2dr sedan, great car, 216, 3spd manual, about 3 years ago (10K) the car was jumping out of 3rd around 50/55 mph and this was cured by installing new needle bearings, new front bearing, 2nd gear thrust washer rear bushing and installing a one piece bushing seal kit in the drive shaft. The old drive shaft bushing had spun out and just laid there floating around. Second gear was noisy at the time but has been getting progressively louder kind of a growling noise rather than high pitched whine. Actually sounds like it did as new but louder. I am going to tear it down this winter and would like some input on what to look for. I have the manual which gives information but often there are other things to loook for. Iknow,I know, I should have done it all the first time but then I enjoy lying on my back under the car with all the grease and stuff.
