When I started my '57 a couple of days ago to take it out of the trailer it spit some black liquid out of the tail pipe, it looked like soot mixed with some water....when I drove it the Saturday before it didn't do this. What does this mean?

My 283ci has 148 miles on it since the complete rebuild a year ago.

The car has not been driven much due to health problems....now I plan on driving it quite a bit.

Thanks

NORMAL-Its a combination of the colder weather exhaust condensation and the exhaust "black dust" laying in the muffler. Also choke may be a little on the rich side ...or car has been started and not driven lately. When the engine gets completely warmed up and car is driven the water in the miffler will blow out/dry up.Takes twice as long with dual exhausts. This is what rots out the muffler.
