Hi.I'm checking to see if there is a way to tell if my valve springs have been upgraded to a 216 version of if someone simply just removed the helper spring assembly.......Thanks!

Genuine Chevrolet valve springs could be identified by paint color. Other than that the tension would need to be checked going by factory specifications. If all else fails get a set of 1038-1953 216 valve springs.

Thanks for the quick response- I'm bringing the head in. Prob not a big deal to replace either way.
