I measure 22 3/4" overall, about 17 1/4" to the outside of the bend at the offset and 6 7/8" offset inside to outside.
I'm pretty sure it is the original crank. I can give you better measurements if required.

I checked my crank handle with a carpenter's square today and mine is 21 3/4 that extra inch might help. I would hit or rub the fairing that the crank cover sits on.

Maybe Bears fan can verify the length. It seems like it would need to fit thru the guide and not be too close to the bumper.

Sorry for the delay guys...

1929 Crank Handle

The slight curve is probably from use and abuse over the years i am sure.
The magenta dimensions are to the center of the radii for the bends, also the bends are 1.50 radii at the centerline of the crank.

Minor correction.
The '29-'30 starting crank is 21 7/8" long as listed in Chevrolet parts book. 22" is close enough considering that you have to measure them with one end on a flat surface and then hold vertical to measure the offset other end.

My original 1929-30 crank handle, measured the way the Chipper mentioned, is exactly 22 1/2" long overall.

Mine looks like Bear's, the bend angles and radius are the same. I re measured it and it is very close to 22 1/2"

As with most other parts there likely were more than one supplier for the starting cranks. Therefore even though all suppliers were given an engineering drawing to use when making their parts I am sure there were some minor differences. Length can be one of them.

I looked at mine again and it doesn't look like BearsFan315. It look like his has a sleeve where you place your hand, and mine doesn't have that and at the end of the handle I also have a socket that is used for the wheel lug nuts at that end of the crank. Also the handle is straight from the end that engages the crankshaft pulley until it starts to bend down to the hand grip. I started this because when I put the engine back in the car I forgot to aline the engine with the crank hole. It is now lined up and going back together.

More info, the little handle part, when you remove it there is a groove under the handle part on the rod, and on the handle part there is a small indentation that holds it ON to the rod.

Not all starting cranks have the rotating sleeve. Some have a smooth hand grip end. Others have the rotating sleeve. I am not sure why.

The starting cranks with the lug nut socket end started in 1933 according to my research.
