Last year I bought a 1930 Chevrolet 3 Window Sport Coupe with Rumble seat. Car was all steel and complete.

All the wood was rotten.

Car was send to rod shop to have the wood replaced with steel. They did a good job on the body, doors, etc. However the rumble seat lid overlapped the fenders and front cowl about 1/4 inch..

I think it should mount flush with the fenders and cowl.
Rod shop said it came in that way. I disagree.....

We have lots of pictures of the car. but none with the
lid shut.

I need info or pictures of how this lid should fit.
Flush fit
or
Overlap

if you can send me pics. email is oldred4687@att.net

Hi There and welcome to Chevy Chatter!

The rod shop is correct....the rumble lid on a 1930 Chevy Sport Coupe overlaps the rear quarter panels...the lid is not flush with the quarter panels.

What you are referring to as a "front cowl" is actually the panel that goes between the rumble lid and the rear of the roof panel. That panel is called the "deck lid upper panel". The panel below the rumble lid is called the "deck lid lower panel".

Good luck with your project.

I agree with the "Dog"
My '30 Coupe trunk lid & '29 Cabriolet rumble lid overlap the rear fenders as well
