Will the bell housing from a 261 bolt onto a 1958 235c.i, engine?

The 261 engine flywheel housing will bolt to a 235 engine....BUT....the passenger car transmission may not bolt to the 261 bell housing.

Thanks! I am looking at an automatic conversion for my 235. I found out it has been done using a 261 (I am fitting a T700), so it should work with my 235. My gammy left knee is making driving a manual trans a chore, so It's time for a change!
