Where can I get a good water pump for my '54 engine? I have just had my second failure in less that 500 miles on new rebuild. The builder installed NAPA Rayloc pump. He told me that if I could find a pump somewhere else that he would reimburse me. What experience have you guys had?

Thanks, Pete

I got one from Rock Auto but have yet to install it. It is a new manufactured one but is from China sold by Airtex. I am hoping it performs well but I had to replace the screws that held the back plate as they bottomed out without tightening the plate down. A friend that worked in a restoration shop said he has used them with good luck so only time will tell.

I had the original water pump from my 1950 rebuilt by Michael Scott from waterpumpman.com. He is located in Dearborn Hts, Michigan. I have only had the engine running about 3 hours total, but there are no leaks.
