I am looking at a 1946 style one half ton assembled in March 1947 that has a 235 engine. Did chevrolet install some of these engines during the crossover period between these two years prior to the advance Design?
Thanks Ken

The "old style" 235 engine was a heavy duty option engine (and standard in some large trucks) for 1 1/2 ton trucks. Never in a 1/2 ton. This engine looked just like a 216 and the engine number would tell the tail. The truck you are looking at probably has a 1950 or later 235 and will have the low side cover among other things. If it pegs the oil pressure gauge it will be a 1954 or later engine.
