Does anyone have a pair of bumper guards for the 38, mine is a Pickup they appear to be the same. The bumper may have come from a 39 Pontiac, my memory is not clear after 55+ years. I inserted a 39 Pontiac instrument cluster after the dang thing caught fire. (my father in-law had a junkyard and a 39 Pontiac was available)
Any Leads ?
It sure looks like a Rod, now, or an old man with no dentures.
Thanks

The 1939 1/2 ton truck uses a bumper that is exactly like a 1938-1939 car. It will have the wide black horizontal striped in the center.
Depending on Pontiac model the instrument cluser will fit a 1939 Chevrolet car but not a 1938 or 1939 truck. The truck has round individual dials and the cars a larger retangular cluster.

Thanks Gene that widens my search on the Bumper guards.
However the dash is configured like the glovebox opening, I cut it out and the Pontiac instruments fit, I had a rat-rod before they named them.
How about 41 Studebaker p.u. rear fenders reversed. It was unique.

I have some '38 car bumper guards. They are not in show condition by any means but if you are interested, I can send you some photos of the best two I have. Beamer

Sure Beamer, I'm interested, if they are stable enough for chrome.
I sent a PM
The reason I believe the bumper was a 39 Pontiac there are 2 additional holes that don't line up with the brackets, but it has the center indentation.

If there is a God in Heaven I know he has a special Chevrolet waiting to pick you up. (when the time comes)
Thank You they arrived today. I will massage that one trying not to scuff it up and use them as is. My bumpers are fresh chrome, but the grille was an after market 50 + years ago and has seen better days, no one will notice a little distortion or scuff marks on the guards.
Thank You

Wheezer,
You are welcome. Don't forget to paint the little indents with black gloss paint. The PO tracking showed a days delay in delivery but the important thing is, you got them. Beamer
