was repacking front wheel bearing had grandson helping (gonna be his someday)everything going well till started torquing new bearing to 32-33 lbs set wrench to 32 told him to tighten till click well he went at it and then he said cant get it to click you guessed it moron who use it before broke it figured no harm backed off nut and set it the old way all well till put wheel on wheel not spinning hitting backing plate did everything again then did it again with new bearings same problem closer inspection reveals the the front spindle where the i guess you call the rear cover over the grease seal is almost flat and even with the backing plate i know there is supposed to be a lip there what can i do can i get a shim to bring ot back out or do i have to remove the spindle help want it ready for next week end wanted to add the brake drum will not spin not the tire it will move but it is hitting the backing plate now that i have lost the couple of thousands that the spindle lip had i hope some one understands what i have said help

Is the tin deflector behind the inner wheel bearing cone that slips on the spindle?

i put a different hub on with all new bearings and cones torqued to 33 like manual says the hub spins like supposed to put drum on(i have removed the rivets that held drum to hub)with drum loose it moves with right amount of drag but when tighten drum to hub with a couple of lug nuts it wont move what could be wrong is something now bent or what anybody got any ideas

You will need three nuts to apply even pressure.

problem solved the problem will explain when get home from carry out store
