My RHD 3100 truck uses a 12v solenoid equipped starter. The starter has the exposed shift lever. The shift lever pivot studs that locate in the bendix are worn. Can i swop a later 2 bolt starter that has the enclosed shift linkage?

Thanks Gene, both bolts face to the rear of the engine where they screw into the bellhousing. One on the top and one on the bottom. 1\2 " NC bolts.

Found a totally enclosed starter #1107888 for a V8 on e-bay.Would this fit the 6cyl motor? With postage at $72 per pound i need to look locally first for one.
