OP wannchev Backyard Mechanic Joined: Jul 2009 Posts: 302 Likes: 4 south africa	My RHD 3100 truck uses a 12v solenoid equipped starter. The starter has the exposed shift lever. The shift lever pivot studs that locate in the bendix are worn.Can i swop a later 2 bolt starter that has the enclosed shift linkage?

OP wannchev Backyard Mechanic Joined: Jul 2009 Posts: 302 Likes: 4 south africa	Thanks Gene, both bolts face to the rear of the engine where they screw into the bellhousing. One on the top and one on the bottom. 1\2 " NC bolts.

OP wannchev Backyard Mechanic Joined: Jul 2009 Posts: 302 Likes: 4 south africa	Found a totally enclosed starter #1107888 for a V8 on e-bay.Would this fit the 6cyl motor? With postage at $72 per pound i need to look locally first for one.
