Iv'e got a 1955 first series Chevy 1/2 ton and am rebuilding the generator. I can locate brushes but can't find the generator bushing opposite the pulley. Appreciate any help.

The rear bushing was not available for 1949-54s. Chevrolet sold only the complete end frame and it fit 1952-54 and 1st design trucks. You may try an alternator and starter rebuilder if you have one in your area.

I have pulled the old bushing and pressed another in with out any resulting problems, rather than go looking for a new rear end and bushing assmbly.
