The cowl lace on my radiator shell could use replacing. The original is about 9/16" wide and 3/16" high with a stiff, but bendable, wire core in the middle between the two beads. The wire actually holds the cowl lace in place except for a clip and screw on one end. I've checked with the regular suppliers and it seems that lace with the wire core is no longer available. I know I can drill holes and use more clips like on the one end but it's not my first choice. What have others done?

actually somebody does reproduce the cowl lace fabric with the wire inside, going to say either "carter truck parts" or the advertiser on here from Oregon............."the filling station". I know I have seen the announcement in last year. mike lynch...............

The Filling Station has an exclusive on the correct lace. Ask for the brown as he also makes a black version for street rods ...Joe

Just to close the loop I called the Filling Station and they have it. It's listed on their website and in the catalog as "hood lace" rather than "cowl lace".
