I pulled out a couple of rubber floor mats for my'36 Chevrolet for possible use. The rubber on both are hard and somewhat brittle. Has anyone found anything that might soften the rubber to reduce cracking?

This question has been asked bfore and brake fluid was a suggestion. Try it on a small corner. Let it soak in good.

Some books say use gasoline to rejuvenate rubber but today's gas is not the same and the rubber may be synthetic so it won't work. Have you looked at your local Auto Parts?
