The Chevrolet part number for te 1948-1953 truck ign. switch is 1116464.
The lock cylinder and keys does not come with the switch.

Thanks

I've looked at a few 1116464.
It looks like the standard switch

The one with the extra position "no key"
Lets the ignition go to the right past center for no key feature

No sure , But I think if I use the standard ignition IT will loose that feature

The three position switch you mentioned was new for 1948 and used on all trucks because they had the same switch, from 1948-1953.

The locked position is way clockwise and will go into that position only with the correct key in the cylinder and a properly working cylinder that the bars drops down allowing it to turn.

Thanks,

I have one and am using it now after my original when out a few weeks ago.

Now I want to order a spare but thought the no key was a diffrent part due the the extra position.

Ill try this no key cylinder (one with handel) and try it in my old one for a test
If it works ill order the 6464, I see a few on ebay

Thanks

Ok. Did a test with this "no key" switch on my old ignition
When I installed it , I lost the no key position

My guess is this switch with the handel and no key position uses a different ignition?

All the way left is off, straight up is on, all the way right is off and you can pull the key and turn back on with no key.

The ignition in the truck is the "no key" switch

The one Im holding is original on off switch

After researching a couple of sites and gm wiki (and one ussucessful ebay purchase)

It looks like the correct switch for this 3 position ignition is 1116452

1116551 could also work but I have not been able to confirm that yet
