Hi Guys,
I have a chance to buy a '56 hardtop that I owned 30 years ago. It has been driven very little, stored inside and not run in at least 8 years.
The owner (95 year old lady)thinks it will start right up and drive away.
I've been away from Tri-Fives for a long time and need to know prices on the following: re-chrome bumpers, new gas tank, carb, pump etc. Any needed gaskets, all brake components, tires (it has WW on it now with less then 100 miles on them but aged).
I realize that prices vary but this will be a driver not show. Thanks for any and all help.

I would say up to $3000. Chrome plating alone could round $2000 for the bumpers and guards.
This is not inclding tires.
The good thing is all parts are readily available.

The Filling Station is a good place to start but I've found Danchuk and Ecklers are the best places to find tri-five parts. Both have extensive on-line catalogs. Regardless, you have to buy this car whatever you have to pay to rehab it. I'd give any amount to repurchase my first car - a 1956 Nomad. Good luck.
