I am putting the front fenders on my '37 chevy 1/2 ton pu and have a question on how the fenders should fit against the cowl, above the running board. Is there a gap there and if so, how wide is it? Is there a rubber molding that goes in between the fender and cowl? I looked thru all my books and found nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Send me a PM with your email address and I'll send a photo or two of the fender fit on my '37. There is a gap. There isn't a gasket or welting and as I recall none was used as delivered from the factory.

I had a gap there but found that when the fenders attached to the running board.... it tightened up with the bolts and nuts. A thin paperboard gasket was there when I took that area apart.

I had my upholstery guy cover two pieces of wind lace the correct length with shinny vinyl material tapered at each end and fit them into the gap. Looks nice and it's a good tight fit.
