I am buying this truck from out of state and the owner can't find the VIN #. Can anyone tell me where to tell him where to look? Thanks Doug

The serial number is on the left front door post. The engine number is stamped in the flat machiened surface behind the distributor. Some states used the serial number and some the engine number.

Is this also true for 49/51 cars? Doesn´t another number exist in the chassis?
