I am swapping a 1950, 216 six cylinder with a 1956, 235 six cylinder into a 50 chevy and need to know if I can buy a short shaft and pulley water pump from a parts store or must it come from a specality dealer? I don't want to have to cut the radiator support. Thanks for any and all help. Thanks, Ron

I´ve cut the shaft of my 261 pump to fit my 51, so I can have a ready substitute when and where it fails.Done it in a good machine shop. Stovebolt sells them also, as Patrick´s do.
