I own a 1950 Chevrolet Special that I purchased 12 years ago, from the second owner. The car was originally sold in the state of Ill. When I picked up this car it had several original documents in the trunk, along whith what my question is about.
In a carton were two fog lights, to install these lights you must first remove the vertical bar in the grill just below the park/turn lights. Installation is the same as is used to hold in the vertical plates with the three ribs, one long 1/4 X 4 inch bolt.
Now for the casting marks on these fog lights.
Casting are identified as L.W.Lee Mfg. Co. one light is then identified with a 50 R in several places, and the other identified as 50 L also in several areas on the inside of each casting. The lights them selves are 4 inches across the face and are seal beams 6 volt. They have the old cotton brade wire on each, there is an inner casting that the seal beam lights mount into, then that is all held together with three machine screws into the main casting that mounts into the area described above, the exterior of these castings are chrome plated.
Has any one ever come across any information of what I have described, if so drop me a line and let me know where these may have come from originally, or any thing about these fog lights.
