I am looking to upholster the inside of my speedster "cockpit" with a marine upholstery and desire to put the upholstery over a thin flexible board that could withstand rain if driving on a "not so nice day". My initial thought was to use standard door panel board but it can swell if it get wet. Does anyone out there know if anything like this exists and if so where can it be obtained?

You have a few choices in panels. Go to your local home center and look at the bathroom panels. You can also find plastic panels online. There are adhesives that can be used to adhere vinyl or other fabrics if you don't like the panel surface.

My '41 came to me with plastic door panels covered with matching upholstery. No swelling or warping. They are great.

Chipper,
Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I have visited my local home improvement box store and found what I was looking for. They refer to is as flexible waterproof wall board and it comes in two thicknesses - .060" & .090". I have tested it for its flexibility to wrap into the rounded inside corners of the "cockpit" and it appears it will do the trick.

My four-cylinder Chevrolet will running the roads with a different look this year.
