Can I space out the water pump to give it clearance at the impeller? It looks like I need about another 1/8 inch to make it run free.
Any Ideas?https://vccachat.org/images/icons/default/Frustration.gif

Was the plate not driven back far enough? I believe it should be 1" back from the front surface of the block.

The rear plate will move . I used a stick of wood and a hammer and it moved easy. and the new pump works great.

The baffle plate behind the water pump should be 1" back from the flange of the engine block. If it is you should have no problem installing the new water pump. By the way, you should post in the 1929-32 forum instead of here in the "Chatter Information" forum which is for posts regarding announcements about the VCCA Chat Forum and it's capabilities.
