I final found the right side rear Extension Strut for my 39. I got it off of a 41. The install with spring etc. went smoothly but now the Brake shoes are to far out and the hub will not turn. I tried to adjust the Brake shoe in but they will not move. Matter of fact the caps on the brake cylinder are loose. Got any ideas out there what to do.

Sounds like the "extension strut" is a fraction too long and holding the brakes applied. It is possible the 41 is a whisker longer than 39.

The 1939 and 1941 are the same....The problem is the lining on the shoes is thicker. A common problem. Probably why the struts were removed in the first place. I have heard of guys grinding the notch in the strut deeper.

I'm thinking of grinding the notch deeper...but don't want to go to far with it..It is strange that the left side Strut works great..
Also was thinking should I grind down the notch on the Lever instead?
