Can anyone suggest a power top pump for a 1948 convertible that has been converted to 12 volts?

Hi Chevguy, Just stay with the stock pump. It will just work better. Otherwise you will have to go to the 12 volt type pump for the 60's cars, and it is questionable if that would provide the volume necessary for the 48 system. It might be possible to replace the fields in your 48 pump with 12 volt fields. Haven't tried that.

Ray,
Thank you for your advice. However, my car was "modernized" years before I got it and the original pump is long gone. I am hoping to find a modern substitute that will perform satisfactorily. I wonder how a pump that is used for low rider gymnastics would work. Too much pressure perhaps? If so, it could be regulated I suppose.
