What years did GM use the theft deterrent ignition? Anyone still using the armored primary ignition wire?

The "Electrolock" was used from 1929 thru 1946. From 1929 thru 1932 the Electrolock was attached to the side of the distributor. Starting in 1933 and up the Electrolock was installed on the top of the coil.

Most cars still retain the Electrolock system.
