Sorry if this has already been discussed.
I am trying to obtain a coil for my 1938 Chevy 1/2 ton. I gave up on trying to find original. I thought all aftermarket 6 v coils were created equal, but I am wrong. I got one that is 1.5 ohms and puts out 40000 volts. Apparently this is to much voltage for my stock set up.
Anyone know where to get a good OEM coil?
Is there a way to test this coil?
What are the proper specs for the coil I need?
Is it possible to place an external resistor and make the one I have work?
What if I just use this coil as is, will that be the end of the world?
