"tire changing iron"- None Kevin, Kevin, Kevin! The 47 spect sheet is the last year this item is mentioned. Not showed in the "48 spect sheet. Since I know, you know, some things about motorcycles, I know, you know,(too many I knows) what a "tire changing iron" is, and what it does. Don't think "lug wrench"

I also would like to know if anyone can tell me the proper color for the Chevrolet letters in the grill on a 47?? And if anyone has a picture of the proper fuel line & filter {glass bowl} type next to the carb.

"The one on the right" Think twice before adding a filter..Correct location is right before the carb"over the exhaust manifold"Bending the line from the pump to carb is a bit tricky, nice to see the fuel entering the carb though

Rich here is the spark plug wrench, hammer and open end wrench set, they look correct??"the open end wrenches should not have sizes stamped on them,I could be spliting hair here" I would bid on them...It also apears that the tool bags are made from seat covers, nice but not correct? All you would need now is the screw diver and adjustable wrench..And no the tools are not that hard to find if you know what your looking for http://www.ebay.com/sch/6000/i.html?_nkw=1948+chevrolet+tool+kit&_rdc=1

Don't think "lug wrench" Oh, my mistake...Got confused there...Last time I used a tire changing iron was for use on my "split rim" truck tires...Used to use them all the time in my younger days...Used to get lots of flats...still have a large assortment of them...Don't use them anymore, but can't seem to want to part with them...Even have a couple of bead breaking hammers...Didn't want to miss with one of those or you'd put a dent in the rim...Can't hardly imagine breaking the bead with just a "tire changing iron", unless you weigh a lot and don't mind jumping up and down a lot...Or drive on the flat 'till it breaks itself...

Rich - you didn't mention the jack, but just in case they missed that, you need to have one of those in your trunk, too.

Do you happen to know where I can get a complete original Durex fuel filter assembly ? And do you know if the chrome looking square plates below the taillights are suppose to be painted with black stripes or what color if at all. Thanks for any info.

Its okay, I thought the lower taillight medallions were all black too, but that's because I've got a black car! I came across this beautiful '47 at this year's Middle West Meet and noticed they were body color. That makes sense and looks sharp too! Thanks for the great info as always Gene!

What colors of green two tone is that Daryl I'm not sure, I chatted with the owner a little bit but I didn't get to ask about the paint. Maybe a little brighter than OEM? I believed there was a two-tone dark / light green offering that year but it may not have been as bright. Someone else can correct me if they have the old Duco paint chips.

The top color is close to correct. That would be 1947 Lullwater Green. The bottom color is too bright and the correct bottom color would have been 1947 Lakeside green. That was a softer very metallic color.
The were some early 1947's painted 1946 Volunteer green upper and Seafoam lower. The color is closer to Seafoam green but too bright for that also.
The owner is a Wisconsin Region member and he is aware the colors are "off". I knew this car when it was owned by the previous owner who repainted it these colors. The original was the 1947 Lullwater green and Lakeside green and was is good condition as it was a low milage well preserved car.
The car looks as good in person as it does in the picture.

I am really bad at learning how to do electronic stuff like posting pictures and etc. If I can get someone {like a 10yr old to do it for me I will. I would rather put my efforts into learning the details about 40-48 Chevy's.

I met a guy form Cooperstown NY area last weekend at a show in Vermont and he has a 41 2dr I want to see. But he does not want to sell it and I have to figure a way to talk him into thinking about selling it. Been looking for awhile for one out here but not many around.
