I have a 32 Chevy with a leak around the speedometer cable at the transmission.
Could anyone tell me the proper sealing method of the drive housing and cable? Thanks and best,

Hi Mac,
There have been several post regarding this subject and a search should give some answers. I used a leather washer under the nut with a center hole that is tight to the drive pin. Also check the gear that comes out of the trans-should have spiral reverse cut groove to funnel the oil back into the trans.

The grooves are there in the gear and there is a vestige of what looks like an old cork type washer. I will search the forum. Take care Steve,

From the searches, looks like there was a felt washer at the trans end. I can make something to work I think.
