Hi All,

Just wanted to see if other folks were excited about this year's Hemmings Great Race. Its actually passing through a fair amount of cities in the Midwest and the South this year, including my city of Peoria, Illinois. I hope to cover it for the radio station I work at, and take plenty of pictures. This is on a lot of people's bucket lists. If you want to see the route this year, check them out below. Cheers!

Thanks Sal, I wish I could take credit for that but it was a photo from a few years ago. I did cover the event today for work as they stopped in my city. I added them all to my Flickr Gallery page so anyone can view them. I also blogged about it.

It was such a spectacle and if anyone lives near a lunch or overnight stop this year, I recommend checking it out! I was surprised to see so many Chevrolets in the race, including:

A 1940 Master Deluxe Coupe

A 1947 Stylemaster 5 Passenger Coupe

A 1954 Bel Air Sedan

A 1966 Corvette.

A 1969 Camaro Super Sport with a 396 and two very nice young women driving for "Team Hagerty" the insurance company.

Thanks for checking out the pics and I was told by Mr. Corky Coker himself today to "get out there and do this race. Check it off your to-do list". So come on y'all, represent that and do it in 2014!

The Black 40 Chevrolet Coupe from New York is a VCCA member. John and his grandson have been on many Great Races and there are many Ace stickers on their car. You Go John. John and his wife Cone also participate in the VCCA Eastern Early Six Cylinder Tour.

Back Roads-that's great news about "team stovebolt". I didn't get a chance to meet up with them, but I admired their car for sure.
