My Wife and I drove an hour today to meet a friend at an antique store/cafe. We were looking around when I spotted this Corvette model in a glass case. I can't recall EVER seeing a Corvette depicted with fender skirts. I thought you guys would get a kick out of it.
If someone would like it on your shelf, let me know.

Mike

I just came from ebay where I was doing some research. It is a SMP (AMT) 3 in One customizing kit.
The kit included a rear mounted spare, and lots of stripes and stickers.

What are your plans... display as is, or a strip and rebuild?

No plans. I'll leave it like it is and maybe pass it along to someone more into models or Corvettes.
It was just something I had not seen before and thought you guys would enjoy seeing it too.

You'll likely find that the parts are completely inter-changable with a modern AMT kit of the same car. Back when they were SMP, they made a lot of the Promos for the car companies. When AMT started making the detailed models, they used a lot of the same moulds. The chassis on your car has a promo-like lack of detail. The customizing bits are likely pretty rare. If you're thinking of doing something with it, and having it keep some value, I'd keep the custom stuff. Otherwise it would just look like one of the millions of that kit that AMT churned out in the seventies and eighties.
