Matraca - my 1965 Chevrolet C10 long wheel base step side pickup Howdy folks, for a good long time, I had a basic website for my truck to share photos about my old '65 c10. I recently switched ISP's, so I lost the old URL I was using and pondered whether or not to bother with building a new site or not. I decided to tinker around with a wordpress.com blog and built the site above with my old photos and content, from the page about my truck. Those of you that visited the old site will recognize the content and photos. I have added most, if not all of the photos I had on the former site now. I have more photos to add, once I figure out what and how to present it... from 2009 to current... that will be added in the coming months. Anyway, it's just a beat up old truck, but it's mine and I like it. Check it out sometime. It isn't as thorough as LAROKE's site for his BillyBob and Deerslayer, but maybe someone will get some use out of the photos and content. Enjoy, -W

The site for my 1965 Chevy C10 long bed step side truck, with lots of photos and details, etc.. Matraca … 1965 Chevrolet C10 step side Most of the photos currently on the site are from 2003-2009. The majority are from 2006-2009, as I got my first point and shoot digital camera in early 2006. A digital camera is a very handy tool for working on old trucks! It allows you to take pics and ask questions about how to fix things or 'what is this part called, etc.?' I have some more photos from 2009-current that I am sorting through, resizing and all around curating to decide where they go, etc.. This list is sort of chronological, as I went through the site looking for the highlights as I wrote it. Current photos: - brake shots, inside the drums
- stock type, reproduction battery hold down
- long step side bed photos
- jack mount under the bench seat
- pics of the truck at various car shows
- shots and details of the hubcaps
- up close shots of the wheels, no hubcaps on 'em
- reproduction, black original style brake lights
- west coast jr. mirror and other related photos
- 1965 vacuum brake booster with 1969 dual pot mc for drums photos
- shots of the chrome bumper guards
- more brake shots with the drums off
- the '65 c10 side emblem
- the under the bed spare tire setup
- sunpro II in dash tachometer installation(with handy links included!)
- front brake hose
- brake pedal push rod
- instrument cluster with gauges
- tutorial on vent window spring adjustment (to keep the vent window snug when it's open)
- more brake shots, ps steering box(I think it is a 67-72 style), shock mounts on coil spring truck, etc.
There ya go, in case ya'll are looking for a photo of one of those areas/parts/pieces! -W

Tony - those were pics from many years back - I just had added them up to my site there at the time of the post. I think I used to have those photos in a photo album service somewhere. My latest little adventure... What is that racket? Sometimes it is the simple things folks! *sheesh* -W

Today I changed the oil & filter... and lubed the front end.
Changed out the inline fuel filter I have as well... which wound up being the biggest pain. It seems the parts stores around me do not have those on the shelf anymore, you have to ask for them. Then the parts people want all these details... and I'm like : a metal inline fuel filter for a 3/8" fuel line...
I wasn't aware these were rare or uncommon.
The parts people were bringing out these monster diesel looking EFI fuel filters... it was starting to get comical, so I left.
Went to another store and started again... and luckily a manager was there and told 'em where to check, they brought out a few boxes and I was like : yeah, THAT one.
Then of course it didn't want to go back on, it leaked, cuz the fuel line cracked where the old one came off, so cut a chunk out and hook it back up.
Old trucks are fun.

If the rubber hose beside the filter cracked and leaked it is time to replace ALL the rubber hoses in the fuel line as you canbet the rest are getting ready to do the same.

spray painted the wheels and rear bumper, knocked the dirt and grime off a bit and pressure washed the bed wood : 08132016 … exterior, engine, interior

Hiya fellow old Chevy truck nuts, so, after diagnosing charging issues... ordering and installing a new voltage regulator... I had to replace my heater core again, so I took lots of photos. A good description of the project.
Several years ago another truck restorer posted lots of stories and pics of his exploits which were very interesting but I have not seen any posting from him for a long time.

photos on my truck site : 07/30/2017 … 8 picturespainted the original type under the bed spare tire holder and mounted it up ---- Replaced the gasket and lube in the rear end of my 1965 Chevy C10 lwb stepside, photos on my truck site, here : 08/12/2017 … 3 picturesreplaced the gasket and the goop on the rear differential cover and changed the rear end gear fluid/dope. -W
