I am having trouble with my HEI I have no spark at the plugs I have power to the distributer. I have replaced the modual and the coil replaced cap and rotor and new plug wires still no spark the only thing I have not replaced is the condenser looking thing inside the distributer could this be my problem? Oh also replaced the ground strap on the coil also....Any ideas?

No it will not be the condenser, but I would say it will be the pick up coil/pole piece. It was not uncommon to see the wires brake where they go in. The condenser in an HEI is for noise suppression. If I remember right we used to check the with an ohm meter and they should be about 800 ohms. It has to produce an ac voltage signal and that is what triggers the module.

I took it apart and the wire insulation is broke and brittle on the p/u coil and I think it maybe grounding out on the distributer base so I ordered a new one so we will see if that works and i also noticed the wire going to the condener also has a worn spot and maybe also grounding out so i will fix these and see what happens.
