I hope there is someone out there who knows these units.I am installing this unit onto my 38 roadster. It has 4 wires that go to each corner individually. Trouble is my harness only has one left hand signal wire and one right hand wire. For now I have twisted the wires together to get one LH and one RH.
What I want to know is how the pilot lights work. It says "Pilot failure indicates signal faulure opposite lever direction". Does that mean that if I turn the lever left and both pilots flash then all is well but if the opposite (front) pilot does not light up then a front bulb has gone. Likewise if I turn the lever to the right should both pilots flash if all is well. If the opposite pilot does not light up then a rear has gone?
I have also considered blanking off two of the wires so that I only use one red to drive the right and one white to drive the left.It actually seems to work better.
Thanks

These directional signal units are sure to toy with your mind.

First you must decide what you will use for the lights. If you have the two lights that mount on your front fenders they are excellent for the front turn signals.

It is easier if you install two lights in the rear dedicated to the signal lights.

Locate the wire in the signal unit that is marked LF. Tie that wire to an extension wire from the LF top fender light. Now locate the RF wire and extend it to the RF top fender light.

Locate the LR wire and extend it to the the LR light you have installed. Locate the RR wire and extend it to the RR light you have installed.

Follow the instructions as to the hot wire and the signal light on the directional unit.

All of these wires must be independent of the normal wiring harness on your car.
