I'm going through some stuff that I bought at an auction this fall and found this booklet. Anyone ever run across this type of a system?

The book on the right came from a packet dated about 1954. There were many subjects cover in the packet.

The Corvette book may have came from the same packet, but not sure.

Depends on what you mean by "run in to". I've worked on the actual components, but never worked a vehicle with it. What is pictured on the cover is a Leece-Neville alternator with an external rectifier and external regulator. The alternator puts out AC current directly from the 3 stator phase leads. It is then converted into DC through the rectifier (diodes). Alternator is still regulated by external regulator. The system may look unique, but all alternators function like this, you just normally don't see all the components (they are all included inside in modern alternators).
