I love these old delivery pictures... It let's you see the cars as they were...fresh from the factory, and also incluse neat looking rigs trailering them. Here's a bunch of '26 or '27 Chevs being delivered.

And, a vintage photo of my '31 when I was leaving Boston on the way to Seattle. This was in August 1973. I wanted to get the upholstery done when we docked for 3 days in Acapulco, but I went ashore and the next thing that I remember was being dragged back to the boat just in time to ship out. (I didn't wake again until we were in San Diego.)

That is really cool! The only thing that seems out of place is the airplane in the background! Was there an airport there too?

From the Warrior's Day Parade in 1920 at the Canadian National Exibition (CNE) in Toronto. Can anyone verify that the car is a Chevrolet? The shape of the front fender is the only thing I can recognize, as so much of the car is covered with the banner.

Sure looks like a Chevy Touring. Headlights look okay. Just not sure about the hood and windshield frame. It is hard to determine the hood shape as it is draped with something. Looks like the cowl kicks up to the bottom of the windshield like a 490 but the fenders are not 490 (look more like a FB series front fender).

Here's Gorries Chevrolet on Gerrard St. in Toronto. The picture is from March of 1956, and there's a beautiful row of new Chevies, including a Nomad. My Grandfather, Kirby Pearce would have been at work this day, running the office and books here. He bought his '51 and his brother Nick's '51 (now mine)here five years earlier.

[Linked Image from i150.photobucket.com]

I Googled Gorries a while ago, and this group shot from 1952 came back. When I showed my Dad, he was able to pick his father out right away. He's in the fourth row from the front, 3rd from the left. He always wore a hat!

Pictures like this, "from back in the day," sure are neat,
Brewster!! It's so cool to see these old cars when they
were just normal, every day type cars. The whole nostalgia
thing just about sweeps me away when I see photos like this.

Thnx so much for posting this one and the many others that
you've done.

Bill.

Brewster,
You must have good eyes. I don't see an airplane. What part of the photograph is it in?

Look just below the off loading car and to the left it looks like a right wing but I'm not sure either.

Just like Andy said. It's just below the off loading car in the back ground. Looks to be the right wing, motor and part of the fuselage. Kind of hard to see but it's there. rockband

Way to go Pat... there's no stopping you now!! Kind of odd that they screwed up the paint scheme on that '41... The first picture in this thread shows them with white rear fenders, not black! This car is now in the OPP museaum in Orillia, Ontario.

Brewster,

You mention white rear fenders in the "first" picture in the thread. That made
me curious so I went back and looked and it looks like the cars are all
white, except for the black hoods. As I looked at it again, I was reminded
of what I thought when I first saw it --- "that's a pretty weird way
to two-tone a 41 coupe!"

These most recent pictures with white body and black fenders seem like a
more "normal" way to two-tone that body style.

computer Just my 2 cents.....

I wonder if they had pictures of the original cars when they restored that one. I'm surprised they didn't paint it black with white doors. cool

This one's for Randy! Prouse Motors in Acton Ontario and a new Chevy pickup: 1956. If you squint a little, it looks like your '58, Randy!
